Mining for everyone and from any device!
No more complicated line instructions to execute...no need to install any program...simply enter your wallet address, choose a mining pool and start mining coins directly from your web browser!
You can mine from Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Phones and even smart TV-s!
We don't use Coinhive, our webminer is Javascript port of open-source xmr-stak miner!
See Why Coin Web Mining vs Coinhive page for more info.
What coins you can mine?
We support mining coins based on CryptoNight and CryptoNightV7 (NEW!) algorithm.
Some of more know coins are:
- Monero (XMR)
- Electroneum (ETN)
- Graft (GRFT)
- IntenseCoin (ITNS)
Here you can check complete list of mineable coins. Our plan is to add support for more coins soon.
Why CryptoNight and not Bitcoin?
CryptoNight algorithm is very compute heavy and – while overall pretty slow – was designed to run well on consumer CPUs.
There are solutions to run the Cryptonight algorithm on a GPU instead, but the benefit is about 2x, not 10000x like for other algorithms used by Bitcoin or Ethereum. This makes Cryptonight a nice target for JavaScript and the Browser.
Of course, when running through JavaScript performance still takes a bit of a toll, but it's not that bad. Our miner uses WebAssembly and runs with about 70% of the performance of a native Miner. For an Intel i7 CPU (one of the fastest desktop CPUs) you should see a hashrate of about 100 H/s. A native miner would get to 140 H/s.
After Bitmain and other manufactures produced CryptoNight ASIC machine, many coins switched their algorithm to CryptoNight-variant algos like CryptoNightV7, CryptoNightHeavy and similar. This made those coins even more profitable to mine using browser or Javascript miner. At the moment we support CryptoNightV7 variant with others being implemented soon.
Is Web mining profitable?
Let’s compare Monero or Electroneum with the more well-known Bitcoin. High-end miners nowadays use only special hardware for mining Bitcoin, and this gives them significant advantage over users that mine on standard PCs or laptops. China is known for Bitcoin farms where old warehouses are stuffed with custom hardware that runs 24/7. They comprise approximately 70% of the world’s Bitcoin miners. This means it is almost completely pointless for any ordinary computer user to attempt to participate in the mining process and waste electricity for Bitcoin. (There are also privacy issues with Bitcoin, as one can also check what balance is in a Bitcoin wallet without any restrictions.)
In contrast, the Cryptonight mining algorithm was specifically designed to work on ordinary computers owned by the general public.
The value of cryptocurrencies like Monero or Electroneum is going up dramatically. So far in 2017, the price of Monero has gone from $13 to over $370. Under these circumstances where the price of Monero can go up substantially in dollar terms over a relatively short time, mining Monero can become an attractive proposition. A small amount of Monero mined today could potentially be worth a great deal more in a matter of months.
Another benefit is that all of us have additional devices like mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs, older PCs, now you can utilize them to get additional hashrate.
