Best Aleo (ALEO) Miners — Blake3 ASICs
Aleo (ALEO) is a zero-knowledge proof-of-work blockchain that launched mainnet in late 2024. Mining uses the Blake3 hash function, which Goldshell and IceRiver have produced ASICs for. The network is newer and more speculative than established chains, but the lower competition density makes it accessible to home miners.
Why Aleo is different
Traditional proof-of-work secures the chain by raw hash competition. Aleo’s puzzle (“Coinbase puzzle”) additionally rewards miners for producing zero-knowledge SNARK proofs that the network uses. The two work types are scored together: hash rate matters, but so does proof-generation throughput.
For ASIC operators in practice, this distinction matters less than it sounds: the Blake3 ASICs available today optimize for the hash component and the network’s economics balance out across the two.
Network economics caveat
ALEO token price has been volatile since launch, and the share of block rewards going to mining (versus protocol-reserved allocations) is governed by Aleo’s tokenomics in ways that established chains aren’t. Treat returns as variable and don’t size your hardware purchase as if Aleo were Bitcoin-stable. How to Choose Your First Miner covers when alt-coin algorithms make sense vs sticking with Bitcoin.
Hardware in our catalog
Goldshell AL BOX III (1 TH/s Blake3, 130 W) — entry-tier home unit, reasonable for testing the Aleo mining workflow without committing to commercial hardware.
For higher-throughput options, watch for IceRiver AL3 and Goldshell AL Box II Plus releases as Aleo’s ASIC market matures.
